Facial Acupuncture.

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture is a way of reducing the signs of ageing on the face by inserting fine needles into various points on the face and body.

In Chinese Medicine it is believed that as we age, the supply of blood and energy (Qi) to the face diminishes, causing a lack of support, moisture and nourishment. By utilising needles, facial acupuncture can help to restore the natural balance and minimise these effects.

What are the Benefits of Treatment?

Each individual will respond to Facial Enhancement Acupuncture differently, but the general benefits include:

Along with these benefits, patients often experience an improved sense of well being.

Facial Enhancement Acupuncture can not change the shape of your nose or chin, but it can provide a safer alternative to cosmetic surgery and chemical treamtents.

Where did Facial Acupuncture Come From?

Facial Acupuncture has been practiced for thousands of years by the Chinese and Japanese, particularly for the Empresses and Emperor's Concubines. The Chinese knew that beauty comes from the inside and developed ways of utitilising the flow of energy (Qi) to encourage healing and rejuvenation.

The Consultation and Detox Treatment.

Before Facial Enhancement Acupuncture can be given, a consultation and detox treatment will be conducted. This will last approximately 1½ to 2 hours, where your individual needs will be discussed in detail, along with your full medical history and details about your lifestyle. This enables the most effective course of treatment to be determined for you. Everything discussed during treatments is confidential.

Please note that in some cases a course of acupuncture treatment may be recommended before it is considered safe to conduct Facial Enhancement Acupuncture.

The Detox treatment will be conducted on this first visit. No Facial treatment will be given at this appointment.

It is important to take things easy and avoid any strenuous activities or drinking alcohol after any acupuncture treatment.

It will be helpful if you are relaxed and avoid wearing strong perfumes of fragrances for this initial visit. Make up must be removed before any facial treatment can be administered.

Facial Treatments.

A Facial Treatment will usually take 1½ hours, which will include a discussion of your progress and experience. Everyone is unique, therefore your response to treatment will also be unique. Typically, patients notice some improvement after 5-6 treatments.

Please note that some bruising may occur during or after a treatment. This usually subsides after a few days.

Number and Frequency of Treatments.

A course of 10–12 weekly treatments is recommended depending on your individual needs. For quicker results, this treatment can be carried out more frequently. After this, regular 'top ups' every 1 to 3 months can help to prolong the effects.
